Observation Session – 20 September 2014

Location: Cévennes National Park, France

Session duration: 2 nights

Sky conditions: Clear sky, low humidity, seeing ~7/10

  • 150mm Newtonian telescope
  • 100mm apochromatic refractor
  • 300mm Dobsonian reflector

Targets:

  • Polaris
  • M31 (Andromeda Galaxy)
  • NGC 7000 (North America Nebula)
  • Jupiter

Observation notes:

The session alternated between lunar, planetary and deep-sky observation, with repeated checks against older notebook entries.

Observers noted subtle differences in contrast and brightness that led to extended discussion between sessions.

  • Double Cluster (NGC 869/884)
