Observation Session – 31 July 2010

Location: Sahara – Mali desert plateau

Session duration: 2 nights

Sky conditions: Excellent transparency after midnight

Instruments:

  • 80mm refractor
  • 200mm Newtonian reflector
  • 300mm Dobsonian reflector

Targets:

  • Double Cluster (NGC 869/884)
  • M13 (Hercules Cluster)
  • Venus
  • Perseus star field

Observation notes:

Transparency improved after midnight and allowed longer visual work on faint deep-sky targets.

The larger telescope resolved dense clusters cleanly, while the refractor was used for wider fields and comparison views.

Members present: Lucille Godefert, Adama Traoré, Ayoub Berrabeh, Antoine Delorme, Marc Lefèvre
